A lot of exhibitors from the locksmith and security world attended the annual I.C.L. event at the notts county football ground on friday.It was a treat for any locksmith with many new products on display and also classes and training on various subjects.
The most impressive bit of kit we came away with was a repair kit for upvc.This kit allows us to repair scratches and marks to upvc doors and windows.We are now offering this service as an addon to our existing upvc repair services.The kit works especially well on the dark wood grain upvc, marks and digs just seem to disappear.This will be a real bonus for those that are unfortunate to have their upvc doors broken into as repairs are normally quite quick and almost invisible.

Biometrics are becoming more and more a part of the security industry.Biometrics is where a fingerprint (most common) is used as a key instead of a card or proximity token.Some of the systems we played with have an amazing ease of use for the end user.Using fingerprints instead of pin numbers will become more and more common in the future especially as the systems becoming easier and more stable to use.

Steel sheets for reinforcing doors seem to be becoming more and more popular with certain landlord preventing the fitting of security gates.Steel sheets are also cheaper so can work well for those on a budget.
