Well few busy days repairing upvc door multipoint mechanisms. Its funny how they always come along in batches like buses.I know some locksmiths will not touch them as they can be "fun" to open at times when the lock fails in the locked position. With so many variations of the mechanism's its easy to see why many won't touch them as it often means return visits with the correct replacement strip. We even have some more booked in for later in the week, like i said they come along like buses.

Well with the release of the ICL Cylinders to wholesalers dodgy youtube videos are already appearing trying to run them down. One shows the lock being picked in seconds and also bumped. It is obviously a rigged lock with pins missing to make it seem so easy.I suppose they get their 5 minutes of fame.

This week we have discovered a non ICL member using the ICL logo to advertise a training course.Trading standards were contacted as he is not a member of the icl and using false credentials to get work.At least its nice to know the institute of certified locksmiths is the group to be seen with.

Signs of a recession and a general lack of money is apparent by the numbers of calls asking for prices.Rather than sell rubbish products to give cheap prices we prefer to stick to well proven products even if they do cost a little more. Its our reputations resting on what we sell or supply, good quality products are important.

Remember the old saying "buy cheap pay dearly"
